SteamCream goodness!

Dear reader,

it is with great pleasure that I am able to inform you that I have, at last, found the Holy Grail in skin care.

Its name is SteamCream, and, for the Lush lovers among you, it is actually concocted by Lush CEO Andrew Gerrie.
Using only environmentally friendly and mostly vegan ingredients, it's a lot like Lush products, only cheaper, as far as I can tell.
The SteamCream.eu website sells it for 9.95 pounds a tin, but for the Belgian and Dutch people among us: Alice&Jo's havesentials webshop has all designs at 10 euros a tin for the next for weeks (so race over there!).

"Designs?" you say.
Designs, dear readers.

SteamCream comes in different adorable tins, designed by Japanese artist Takayuki Totsuka, who is based in Tokyo.
My copy is called "Kyoto Girl" and is just as adorable as it sounds:

Click for SteamCream website

On the website, you can admire all 12 current designs. A new design will be issued every month - I know I'm going to look out for that!

The cream itself is white, very light, and melts into your skin almost immediately.
I tried it on my face (for which I intend it, mostly) and, to see if it actually works like I read it did, on my notoriously rough elbows.
Like it?
LOVE IT.

I can't recall when my face has ever felt so soft. My elbows are definitely less rough now, so perhaps I'll order another tin just for my body. I'm kind of reluctant to use one tin for two wholly different areas.

The smell is subtle, quite nice, and, most importantly for facial cream, not imposing at all.
I don't want my perfume to counteract with a myriad of nauseating smells from my skin care products, so it's perfect from my point of view.

Have any experience with SteamCream? Like it, love it, hate it?

Let me know =]

Yumz! Can't wait to try mine... I'm hoping it will finally get rid of my horribly dry face. Which would be a miracle, because my skin hates me.

  2. ^ Would be awesome :gooby
You know, you can pick a nickname in case I feel the need to gossip about you in public again xD

By the way, there's a dent in your tin :( It was very well packed though, don't see how it could've happened o.O

A DENT?? Oh well, I'll try to un-dent it then. No big deal, I would've dented it anyway, eventually. I'm the queen of dents. It's what I do... I dent stuff.

    And I quite like E. It's mysterious, in a very sexy, mystery-like way. :D
Oeh! Do I get my own weekly guest-random-column-review-recipe-thingy? "E's Extraordinarily Eloquent Extravaganza"? Or something else with ridiculous alliterations? :P

  4. Sounds awesome, it's a deal! xD
It'd have to be weekly then, though, not random :p
You can mail the text to me and I'll put it here?

  6. Rawtsch, 'E' does sound sexy! I wonder who it could be? XD

Maybe I should try this cream as well, my skin sucks monkeyballs...
Sado, if you'll order an extra tin for your elbows, could you do one for me too?

  7. That sounds really good! Might have to try and find out where to purchase it in the UK.

  8. Laura - you can order it from the site, but I'm sure there are shops who sell it so you don't have to pay for shipping.
Let me know what you think of it when you find it!
